Privacy Policy

Prayer Break ("we", "our", or "the app") helps you pause before opening distracting apps by showing a reflection screen. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information the app accesses, what stays on your device, and which trusted services help us operate billing, reliability, and anonymous product analytics.
Summary
- Blocking, blocklists, profiles, reflection prompts, and session stats are stored on your device.
- Foreground app package names used for blocking are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers.
- We do not sell your data and do not use advertising analytics.
- Premium payments are processed by Google Play; we never receive payment card numbers.
- A small set of third-party services handles subscriptions, crash reporting, anonymous usage signals, and optional remote content updates (see below).
Information accessed on your device
Foreground app usage (Usage Access): Prayer Break reads which app is in the foreground so it can show a block screen when you open a blocklisted app. Package names are processed locally and are not transmitted to our servers.
Blocklists and profiles: Apps you choose to block, focus schedules, and block profiles are stored locally in an on-device database.
Reflection prompts: Bundled and optionally updated reflection content is stored locally after sync. Prompt text you add yourself, if enabled, stays on your device.
Mindful session metrics: Streak and pause counts are stored locally to power in-app stats and the home-screen widget.
Overlay and notifications: Used only to deliver the block experience and keep the monitoring service running reliably.
Payments
Premium purchases (monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock) are processed by Google Play Billing. Google collects and processes payment information according to Google's privacy policy. Prayer Break uses RevenueCat to validate purchase entitlements and unlock Premium features. We receive subscription status and product identifiers, but we do not receive or store payment card details.
Third-party services
Prayer Break does not operate its own user-account backend. Limited data is sent to the following service providers only as needed to run the app:
- Google Play & RevenueCat: Purchase and subscription validation for Prayer Break Pro.
- Sentry: Crash and error diagnostics to improve stability. May include device model, OS version, and stack traces—not your blocklists or usage history.
- TelemetryDeck: Anonymous, privacy-oriented product analytics (for example, paywall or purchase funnel events). We do not send blocklists, package names, or reflection text.
- Firebase Remote Config (Google): Fetches non-personal app configuration such as reflection prompt packs and feature toggles.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We choose providers that minimize personal data collection and do not use your information for third-party advertising.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, and only to operate Prayer Break (billing, reliability, anonymous analytics, and configuration). Foreground app usage for blocking is not shared with these providers.
Data retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you clear app storage, uninstall the app, or delete content within the app. Uninstalling Prayer Break removes local databases and preferences. Data held by third-party providers is retained according to each provider's policies; contact us if you need help understanding those options.
Children
Prayer Break is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
